ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic is heading home on a happy flight after beating the Charlotte Hornets 117-106 Friday night at the Spectrum Center.

The Magic was in control throughout the entire game. Once Orlando went ahead 3-2, the Magic never relinquished the lead.

The Magic led by as much as 24 during the game and put its foot on the gas without ever giving a shadow of a doubt who was in control.

No. 1 overall pick Paolo Banchero led all scorers with 31 points. He was one of five Magic players to score in double figures. Cole Anthony continued his hot streak with 16 points and Jalen Suggs added 15 off the bench.

For the Hornets, Kelly Oubre Jr. led the way with 29 points and 10 rebounds, while Terry Rozier added 22.

The win solidifies a season series win for the Magic against the Hornets and a winning road trip, where the team went 2-1. The Magic currently sits four games behind the Washington Wizards for 10th place in the Eastern Conference standings and the final play-in slot.

The Magic returns home this weekend to face Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Sunday.
