Magic Ex Dwight Howard Says He Has 'Better Prime' Than Nikola Jokic: 'All Day, Everyday!'

Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic and Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard are on similar career trajectories now that the former has reached his first NBA Finals.
In this story:

ORLANDO - The 2008-09 Orlando Magic has shades of itself seen in the current Western Conference champion Denver Nuggets.

Most notably, each team was led by a star at the center position ... Dwight Howard for the Magic and Nikola Jokic for the Nuggets. However, the two also are very different. Howard dominated the game on the defensive end, while Jokic is doing things on the offensive end that have never been seen before.

Howard was asked by former NBA player Chandler Parsons on FanDuel's "Run It Back" whether he or Jokic had the "better prime," and naturally the former Magic center backed himself up.

"Prime Dwight Howard all day, everyday!" Howard exclaimed. "I'm dominating every play with a smile on my face."

Howard and Parsons were laughing through the interview, which made it seem like the former wasn't putting too much weight into the question, but it did remind people of his dominance during his hey day.

"People sleep on how insane Orlando Dwight was," Parsons tweeted in response to the video.

Howard was particularly dominant during his days with the Magic from 2004-12. During his eight seasons in Orlando, Howard was named an All-Star six times and was the Defensive Player of the Year three times from 2009-11. While Jokic has the two MVP awards, the team success is relatively even.

Jokic just reached his first NBA Finals, matching Howard's achievement in 2009. If Jokic and the Nuggets can win a championship, that will certainly solidify his placement above Howard in terms of their primes.
