Magic SF Franz Wagner 'Super Happy' for Anthony Black After Career Game

Anthony Black had by far the best game of his young career in the Orlando Magic's last game against the Washington Wizards, and his teammates couldn't be happier.

In the Orlando Magic's last game against the Washington Wizards, Anthony Black had by far the best game of his young career, as his work on his shooting has been paying off.

The rookie finished with a career-high 23 points as well as six rebounds, which is his second highest total on the boards for the season. But the most impressive thing about the game that Black had was the shooting performance that he put on. That has been the number one thing he has been working on, and Magic forward Franz Wagner talked about how much the rookie has been working in his postgame interview.

"Super happy for AB [Anthony Black], he works so hard," Wagner said. "He’s shooting before practice, after practice all the time. It’s really cool to see that pay-off in a game."

Black finished the game shooting 9-13 from the field and an impressive 4-6 from beyond the arc. When the Magic drafted Black with the sixth pick in this past year's draft, they drafted him for his defense at the point guard spot, which he also showed in the game against the Wizards, finishing with four steals.

The one concern was Black's shooting, and if he can continue to improve, the rookie could become a key contributor for the Magic.

Black and the rest of the Magic will be back in action tonight against Joel Embiid and the dangerous Philadelphia 76ers. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET from the Kia Center.
