Warriors' Draymond Green Gets Response After Shading Magic Ex Andrew Nicholson
Earlier in the offseason, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green joined Paul George's podcast, where he discussed the 2012 NBA Draft, his draft class, in negative light.
Green was asked about any notable players that were drafted ahead of him that he considered "ridiculous."
"Not to throw salt at anybody, but, like, Andrew Nicholson was drafted over me at 19," Green answered. "When it comes to winning, half the battle is looking like a basketball player."
Nicholson was drafted at pick No. 19 by the Orlando Magic. As a 6-9 power forward that didn't specialize in shooting the ball, Nicholson was left behind as the small-ball style of play was popularized.
This time around, Nicholson joined a podcast and responded to Green's antics.
"I see it as an insecurity on his end," Nicholson said. "I didn't know he was thinking about me for the last 11 years. I wasn't thinking about y'all, I'm going to be honest with you."
For Nicholson, 33, his life goes beyond looking like a basketball player, and he clapped back by explaining so.
"I didn't really realize St. Bonaventure was a really hard name to pronounce. Maybe it's a good thing I stayed four years in college," Nicholson said. "That's why I could do it. I have a good program in my 44 Hoops non-profit where we do have these kinds of phonic things where we can actually help him out with that. I got no problem doing that."
Nicholson played for five seasons in the NBA. He averaged six points per game in 14.3 minutes per game over the span of his career, which included three different teams. The first four seasons of his career came with the Magic, where he averaged 6.5 points per game.
