ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic is solidifying part of its future today.

According to Jason Beede of The Orlando Sentinel, the Magic is fully guaranteeing the contracts for Markelle Fultz and Gary Harris.

Fultz had a partial guarantee of $2 million, but will now make $17 million for the upcoming season. Meanwhile, Harris had no money guaranteed, but now the Magic has kept them on board for the upcoming season.

So, what does this mean for the Magic?

Fultz is likely going to enter contract negotiations for an extension. Despite the team drafting Anthony Black and rostering Cole Anthony, Orlando is high on Fultz being its franchise point guard moving forward. As a free agent next summer, Fultz would want the financial security down the line. He can sign an extension on Sept. 30, a few weeks before the start of the season.

Harris will now make $13 million this season, which is a tradeable contract. However, Orlando is high on Harris, especially given his three-point prowess. His 43.1 percent clip from beyond the arc this past season ranked second in the NBA behind Memphis Grizzlies guard Luke Kennard. He's expected to compete for the starting shooting guard spot next to Fultz.
