NBA Trade Rumors: Rockets' Kevin Porter Jr. to Magic?

The Orlando Magic and Houston Rockets could be trade partners for a deal.
In this story:

ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic is facing a ton of questions when it comes to its second unit and what it may look like for the upcoming season.

Among those question marks is Jonathan Isaac and where he may fit in the rotation.

With a questionable fit, Isaac has been dangled in many trade rumors and ideas this offseason. And now he finds himself on the other end of a Kevin Porter Jr. mock deal.

NBA Analysis Network suggests that the Magic should trade for Porter in exchange for Isaac and a 2025 first-round pick.

Porter Jr., 23, is coming off the best season of his young career, averaging 19.2 points per game. However, his status as the Rockets point guard is up in the air with the additions of Fred VanVleet and Amen Thompson.

The Magic also has a crowded guard rotation with Markelle Fultz, Cole Anthony, Jalen Suggs and No. 6 overall pick Anthony Black, making this deal unlikely for Orlando. That being said, Porter Jr. has a higher ceiling than Isaac and he can play more than just the point guard spot. In fact, his collegiate career and time as a rookie with the Cleveland Cavaliers saw him play more of a shooting guard role.

If the Magic made this trade, perhaps he would slide into more shooting and off-ball creation, something Orlando could use more of to pair with Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero.
