Jamahl Mosley Sees Growth After Orlando Magic Win vs. Utah Jazz
The Orlando Magic was locked into a tight battle with the Utah Jazz on Thursday, and the Magic was able to come out with the close in as a result of some great play late in the game.
The Magic came out of a timeout with 19 seconds on the clock down by a point, and the team was able to get some key plays to win the game, especially the layup that Paolo Banchero made with 14 seconds left that put the Magic up. The team was then able to get a stop to close it out and secure the victory.
One might expect with the Magic's younger roster that the team would not as good at closing out games as other teams, but that does not seem to be the case so far this season. Head coach Jamahl Mosley talked about how much he loves to see all of the practice paying off on the court in his postgame interview.
"That part of our group, this is where you see growth," Mosley said. "We've worked on this, this is what we need to do, this is our three-minute drill. What are we doing on the stop, are we calling time out? What are we doing here with the switching, are we not switching? They did a great job communicating all of that in the huddle, and that's why this group has to continue to learn and keep communicating with one another and our coaches so we can keep getting over the hump."
The young and talented Magic squad will be back at home on Saturday against the new-look Los Angeles Lakers. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. from the Amway Center.
