Paolo Banchero is a 'Winner', Says Orlando Magic Head Coach Jamahl Mosley

Even in the midst of what seems to be shooting slump, Mosley has not doubt that Banchero is going to do what needs to be done to win games.

The Orlando Magic finally lost its first game after winning its first two games of the season. The team lost a close game to the Los Angeles Lakers as a result of some fantastic play from particularly Anthony Davis and D'Angelo Russell.

The Magic had six total players score in double figures in the game, with four of them in the starters, and two coming off the bench. Weirdly enough, the only starter that did not score at least 10 points was young forward Paolo Banchero, who most consider to be the team's best player.

Banchero had only nine points in the game, shooting a less than desirable 4-14 from the field, and going 1-5 from three. He also chipped in five rebounds and five assists in his 30 minutes of play as well. This latest performance for Banchero bumps his field goal percentage on the season so far down to 37.5 percent, and his three-point percentage down to 16.7 percent.

Despite all of these factors, Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley still has no doubt in his mind that Banchero contributes mightily to the team's success, and that he will eventually get out of this shooting slump. Mosley talked more about the impact that Banchero has in his postgame conference on Monday.

"The great part about Paolo is that he is a winner, and he is trying to find ways to win," Mosley said. "Whether he's making shots, or he's helping to rebound, or he's defending, he's doing all of the little things in order to put his teammates in the right position to be successful. I don't worry about his shot, because he's doing the right things to try and make winning plays for this team."

Banchero will get another chance to show the impact that he has on the court as he and the rest of the Magic will be back in action tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers on the road. Tipoff is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. from Crypto.com Arena.
