Orlando Magic More Mature, Says Jamahl Mosley

"We may be young and our age by number, but I think their maturity level and the experiences that they've been in this last year so says a lot about them," Orlando Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said.
In this story:

ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic is bringing back an almost identical roster to that of a year ago, but there appears to be a different energy surrounding the team.

The Magic started off 2-7 through nine games last year, but Orlando already has two wins in as many games this year.

"We may be young and our age by number, but I think their maturity level and the experiences that they've been in this last year so says a lot about them. The way they're communicating with one another and that will talk to them over and over and over again about how much and how well they have to communicate in order to achieve success in this league," coach Jamahl Mosley said.

The Magic improved its win total by 12 games last year, one of the best improvements in the NBA. Another 12-win improvement this year would certainly guarantee a playoff spot, and at worst, a play-in berth.

The continuity the team has from a year ago should certainly help as the Magic navigates through the season. Playing in tight games last year falling short should hopefully shape the team when those situations arise this year.

The Magic road trip continues on Monday when the team visits the Los Angeles Lakers. On Tuesday, the team is right back at it against the Los Angeles Clippers in the second half of a back-to-back. Then, the team closes out the trip with a game against the Utah Jazz on Thursday night.
