In a recent 2024 NBA mock draft, the Orlando Magic selects Izan Almansa, a Spanish forward with high upside.

The Orlando Magic has done a solid job building their roster through the draft during their rebuild. As they continue to turn the corner to becoming a competitive team, continuing success through the draft will be vital to extending a potential championship window.

With a new NBA season rolling around, draft scouts have began building out their scouting reports and mock drafts for the 2024 NBA Draft cycle.

In a mock draft, the Magic would hypothetically be selected Izan Almansa with pick No. 8 in the draft.

"Almansa is a 6-10 big who has a ton of international accolades for his age, is insanely coordinated for his size," Draft Digest's Derek Parker says.

Almansa is a Spanish forward that's heading to the G League Ignite for the upcoming season. At 6-10, 215 pounds, Almansa has the physical upside to continue polishing his game at the next level. He's spent the past two seasons in the Overtime Elite league.

"He could be a fun center option for Orlando, potentially the only position they somewhat need right now," Parker continued.

With plenty of depth at both the guard and wing positions, the Magic could very well turn towards adding center depth and upside. At his size, Almansa could be a fun option for the team.

Almansa has great touch close to the basket and is a solid free throw shooter. He projects to have the ability to develop a 3-point shot that's efficient enough for him to space the floor while also playing the center position.

As a young forward, Almansa would be able to use his feel for the game along with his size to fit right into the Magic's system, and would help the team maintain their style of play that keeps everyone involved.

If Almansa were to be drafted to the Magic to help with center depth, he would need to work on his perimeter defense to get better at switching. Other than that, there's plenty that he does well that would allow him to get good playing time early.
