Orlando Magic Plays 'Connected', Says Detroit Pistons' Isaiah Stewart
The Orlando Magic is tied with the Milwaukee Bucks for the second-best record in the Eastern Conference, and that has caused a lot of doubters to change their opinions on the team.
A lot of the Magic's success this season can be attributed to the coaching philosophy that Jamahl Mosley has brought. And that is that he wants to maintain consistency with the roster so that the players can grow and improve together, therefore becoming closer. Now, opposing players are starting to take notice on how well the Magic plays as a team.
“You can see right away that everyone (on the Magic) knows who they are — their roles, what they’re supposed to do when they come in, and they’re connected,” Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart said via The Athletic's James Edwards III. “They’re connected. You hear them talking. You can just tell they’re connected.”
Every player on the Magic knows their role, and if someone doesn't;t step up on a particular night, the team has taken pride so far this season in its next man up mentality.
This also applies to the bench unit of the Magic, as there is no noticeable drop off in performance from the starters to the bench. Guard Cole Anthony has done a great so far this season in leading the bench unit, as he is averaging 15 points per game shooting 45 percent from the field.
Mosley Offers Advice Ahead Of Cavs Rematch
The Magic will get another chance to show how effective it plays as a team tonight in a rematch against Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET from the Amway Center.
