Orlando Magic Schedule For Inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament Released

The Orlando Magic had their schedule for the first ever NBA in-season tournament announced.

ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic revealed its schedule for the Group Play stage of the inaugural NBA in-season tournament.

For the tournament, all 30 teams are divided into groups of five, based off of records from the previous season. The Magic is in a group with the Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors, and Chicago Bulls

Each team plays every team in the group once, with two games coming at home and two games on the road.

Orlando plays its first two games of the tournament on the road. Its first game is against the Nets on Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. The Magic then travel to Chicago for the second game on Nov. 17 at 8 p.m.

Orlando will host the Raptors at the Amway Center for the first home game of the tournament on Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. The last game of Group Play will be against Boston on Nov. 24 at 2:30 p.m for a Black Friday matinee. 

The Magic had an 8-6 record last season against the four teams in their group. They performed the best against the Celtics, winning three out of four. Orlando went 2-2 against Toronto, 2-1 against the Bulls, and 1-2 against Brooklyn.

The best team from each of the six groups will advance to the knockout rounds. In addition, two "wild card" teams will also advance to the next round. The "wildcard" teams will be the best non-group winners from each conference. 

In the quarterfinals, the two teams with the best record in group play in each conference will host the games. The top team from each conference will host the wild card team. 

The semifinal and championship round of the tournament will take place in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena on Dec. 7 and Dec. 9 respectively.
