Orlando Magic Star Paolo Banchero Does 'Whatever Is Necessary', Says Jamahl Mosley

Young Orlando Magic star Paolo Banchero seems to be getting better and better as time goes on, and his consistency is there.

Despite the Orlando Magic's tough loss to Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night, Paolo Banchero continues to show that he is already a star in this league.

He had by far the best game of his young career, as he finished with 42 points shooting great 16-26 from the field, as well as six rebounds. Banchero's performance made him the second youngest player in Magic history to score 40, only behind one of the greatest players in NBA history, Shaquille O'Neal.

Banchero is averaging around the same point total that he did last year in his rookie season, but his shooting percentages are miles better. Head coach Jamahl Mosley spoke more on what Banchero is all about in his postgame interview.

"We've talked about who he is as a player and as a teammate," Mosley said. "He's willing to do whatever is necessary to try and get the win, and tonight it happened to be going to score the ball. It was a tough matchup for him, and he took those challenges on. But he's all about winning and figuring out the right ways to do that."

After being selected with the first overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, most people knew that Banchero was going to be a star one day. But he has somehow exceeded everyone's expectations, and is becoming a consistent and explosive star in this league in just his second season.

Banchero will have another chance to show his growth when he and the rest of the Magic take on a Detroit Pistons team who is on a 18-game losing streak on Friday. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET from the Amway Center.
