Magic Starting 5: Bye Bye, Bol Bol

The Magic Insider lists five of the biggest NBA storylines in addition to relevant Orlando Magic news and analysis.
In this story:

1. BOL BOL CUT "The team announced in a press release Tuesday that Bol Bol has been waived. The move comes after the team delayed its decision as to whether or not his contract would be extended on June 30."

2. MAGIC SPONGES "Their willingness to learn," Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley said. "They're just soaking everything up that the coaches are teaching. And the coaches are doing a phenomenal job of breaking down things to the slowest level that it can be so they're able to adjust to the game the right way.

"They're sponges in what they're asking and how they're trying to learn so I think it's beneficial to them that we're actually slowing things down so they can adjust to it and see the things in real time."

3. TRADE FOR A BUDDY? NBA Analysis Network suggested that the Magic should trade Jonathan Isaac, Bol Bol, and a 2025 first-round pick from the Denver Nuggets to the Indiana Pacers for Buddy Hield.

4. VETS SET TONE "Those guys are super well-rounded," Howard said. "Real good players and I feel like they're teaching us like the coaches. When a player is telling you the same thing as a coach, it resonates with you even more."

5. SUMMER LEAGUE COUNTDOWN The Orlando Magic is three days away from the Las Vegas Summer League, where rookies Anthony Black and Jett Howard will debut for the team. Coverage begins on July 8 at 5:30 p.m. on ESPN.
