NBA Trade Idea: Pacers' Buddy Hield to Magic?

Are the Orlando Magic looking to trade with the Indiana Pacers for one of the league's top three-point shooters in, Buddy Hield?
In this story:

The Orlando Magic has been relatively quiet in free agency up to this point, but could they trade with the Indiana Packers for Buddy Hield?

NBA Analysis Network suggested that the Magic should trade Jonathan Isaac, Bol Bol, and a 2025 first-round pick from the Denver Nuggets to the Indiana Pacers for Buddy Hield.

While that may sound like a lot when you consider the star trajectory Isaac was once projected to have, the days of him being a franchise cornerstone are seemingly behind him. Over the past four seasons, Isaac has only played in 45 games due to injuries, and Orlando might as well trade him for a shooter that fits better in its current roster construction.

A 2025 first-round pick from the reigning NBA champs will likely be closer to the second round than the lottery. Despite the case Bol made for himself early last season to win Most Improved Player, he proved to be a defensive liability with increased minutes.

On the other hand, Hield is coming off of a season that saw him shooting three-pointers at a 43 percent clip, even higher than his career average of 40 percent. Shooting over 40 percent from three is even more remarkable when you consider that Hield has averaged over eight attempts from three per game since his stint with the New Orleans Pelicans as a rookie.

If the Magic adds Hield, the 30-year-old will fit nicely at shooting guard and instantly be the team’s top deep threat. Alongside Orlando’s young stars, Hield might finally be able to make a postseason run, something that’s eluded the seven-year veteran his entire career.

Though the Magic’s young core is busy playing in the NBA Summer League, the organization is worth monitoring since it has the sixth-most cap space remaining.
