Magic's Tyger Campbell: Potential Two-Way Candidate?

Tyger Campbell, who played Summer League with the Orlando Magic, is a candidate to fill a two-way spot for an NBA team.

The Orlando Magic finished its 2K24 Summer League stint with an 0-5 record. However, that's not the reason the team plays its games in Summer League. More importantly, the team was able to analyze their two rookies and other young talent.

An underrated wrinkle in Summer League is the amount of G League and two-way talent that gets put on notice. Teams that scout these games may be able to find gems that can work their way up in their systems.

For the Magic, Tyger Campbell is a player that was able to showcase that he has what it takes to take one of a teams' three two-way spots.

USA Today named Campbell among the "honorable mentions" for those who deserve a two-way contract after Summer League.

The former UCLA Bruin is a 5-11 guard which appeared three games in this Summer League with the Magic. He started one game, scoring 10 points and dishing five assists.

Campbell is player that best suits a role that allows him to be the motor of an offense, which wasn't what he was able to do with the Summer League roster.

The 23-year-old made the All-Pac-12 first-team in each of his last three seasons. His college resume is impressive, and the short spurts he was able to show during Summer League displayed potential.

Against the New York Knicks, Campbell played just 10 minutes, but shot 3-of-6 from the floor and knocked down two free throws to give himself eight points in the game. He also appeared in a matchup against the Indiana Pacers, putting up three points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals.

The talent for a G League team or a two-way contract is real, and whatever G League team that needs a point guard to help develop talent will be glad to pick up Campbell, who will do just that.
