ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic are looking at many possible ways to improve their team before Thursday's NBA Trade Deadline, and they may look far away to the Western Conference for that upgrade.

According to Action Network insider Matt Moore, the Magic have "kicked around" on veteran guard Chris Paul as an option to be acquired.

"The Warriors are obviously keen to shuffle the deck chairs on the Titanic that is their season," Moore writes. "Details of talks aren't known, but Jonathan Isaac and Moses Moody are players each team has interest in for a potential deal. Whether the Magic and Warriors are willing to trade those players may be an entirely different question."

It's almost impossible for the Magic to trade Isaac after he finally has become healthy and has showed up in clutch moments for Orlando over the past few weeks. His size and defensive presence will be key for the Magic in any potential playoff run.

However, in the chance that Paul is bought out, maybe the Magic would be more interested? They could pay the 38-year-old much less than the $30.8 million he is making this season.

NBA Trade Idea: Magic Acquire Pistons' Bogdanovic

Paul is averaging 8.9 points and 7.2 assists per game this season but has fallen out of the rotation and hasn't played since Jan. 5. It would be challenging for him to crack the guard rotation with Markelle Fultz, Jalen Suggs, Cole Anthony and rookie Anthony Black, but the Magic could definitely benefit from having a player of his caliber join the team and help Orlando try to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2020.
