Mavs’ Jason Kidd Among Most ‘Positively Received’ NBA Head Coaches

Social media research from Betway suggests that Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd is viewed favorably compared to the rest of the coaches in the NBA.
In this story:

Despite the Dallas Mavericks losing several assistant coaches this offseason, that apparently isn’t a bad reflection on how head coach Jason Kidd is viewed by the public … at least when it comes to Twitter mentions.

According to Betway, Kidd is among the most “positively received” head coaches in the NBA based on a table that ranked the positive sentiment score of tweets mentioning him in the past 12 months. Kidd was sixth in the league with a yearly positive online sentiment score of 21.8 percent. Former Mavs and current Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle was No. 1 with a 30.9-percent positive sentiment score.

Twitter certainly isn’t the only way to gauge whether coaches are liked or not, but it’s still a decent way to check the temperature. Although the Mavs failed to make the Play-In Tournament this year, Kidd leading Dallas to the Western Conference Finals during the 2021-22 season has apparently given him more margin for error in the eyes of not only the fan base, but the front office as well.

If Kidd isn’t able to turn things around for the Mavs next season — especially if they successfully re-sign Kyrie Irving and add better defensive pieces around he and Luka Doncic — then perhaps his seat will be a little warmer by January. Until then, though, Kidd is getting the benefit of the doubt.
