Dallas Mavs' Luka Doncic, Fiancee Anamaria Goltes Welcome Daughter Gabriela
DALLAS — Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic and his fiance Anamaria Goltes welcomed a daughter on Thursday, whom they named Gabriela.
The couple announced in an Instagram post on Friday, hours after the Mavs had ruled out Doncic on the injury report for Friday's matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies due to a personal reasons designation.
After a long relationship, the couple announced their engagement using social media on July 7. Doncic met Goltes reportedly when he was 12, while his family was on vacation. The two will reportedly soon enter marriage.
With Doncic being ruled for Friday's game, it'll mark the first game he'll have missed of the 2023-24 season, averaging 31.1 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 7.9 assists in 17 games. He remains one of the premier candidates for the 2024 NBA MVP award, alongside other candidates such as Nikola Jokic, Joel Embiid, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Doncic is coming off a strong performance against the Houston Rockets, recording 41 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists in a 121-115 win, improving the Mavs' record to 11-6 through 17 games. It was his second performance of the season featuring scoring 40 or more points without a single turnover, with the rest of the NBA having none.
The Mavs have a quick turnaround before returning to action after their matchup against the Grizzlies, as they will compete against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday, completing a back-to-back at American Airlines Center.
