Mavs' Luka Doncic Throws Down Dunk at All-Star Game, Then Hilariously Misses Self Alley-Oop

Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic attempted to throw down back-to-back dunks in Sunday night's NBA All-Star Game, but his second attempt became a blooper that will surely go viral on social media.
In this story:

Luka Doncic has never been one to take the NBA All-Star Game seriously, and that didn't change on Sunday night as the Dallas Mavericks superstar got in some good cardio while also dishing out a few assists to the likes of Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James and Denver Nuggets' Nikola Jokic.

During the third quarter, though, Doncic had a sequence that will surely go viral on social media. After throwing down a dunk in transition, Doncic was feeling himself a little bit and attempted to make back-to-back dunks ... and the second time, it was an attempted alley-oop to himself.

The result was hilarious, as Doncic got hung on the rim, and the miss led to a Damian Lillard half-court 3-pointer. Everyone on the benches got a good laugh out of it, but no one was laughing harder than Doncic himself.

It's hard to blame Doncic for never giving it his all during All-Star Weekend given the load he has to carry for the Mavs all season. Doncic is averaging a league-leading 34.2 points, 8.8 rebounds and 9.5 assists while shooting 49.2 percent overall and 37.5 percent from deep in 37.4 minutes, which is the second-most minutes played per game in the league.

The biggest thing for the Mavs, who are 32-23 as they start their final stretch toward the postseason, is that Doncic, Kyrie Irving and everyone else on their roster is finally healthy. If Dallas can become a true title contender in their final 27 games, that's really all Doncic cares about.
