Victor Wembanyama's Jersey from NBA Debut vs. Dallas Mavs Breaks All-Time Rookie Auction Record - Tracker
NOV 21 WEMBY'S NBA DEBUT JERSEY VS. MAVS BREAKS THE BANK IN AUCTION – Although Victor Wembanyama's NBA debut ended up being outshined by Dallas Mavericks rookie Dereck Lively II in a San Antonio Spurs 126-119 loss at home, the rookie phenom's game-worn jersey from that night just broke the bank in a recent auction.
According to NBA insider Tommy Beer, Wembanyama's jersey from opening night broke an all-time rookie jersey record, selling for $762,000 after initially being expected to sell between $80,000-$120,000.
Wembanyama is off to a decent start to his rookie campaign, averaging 18.6 points, 9.1 and 2.6 blocks per game, but he's only shooting 42.4 percent from the field and 26.9 percent from deep as the Spurs sit at the bottom of the Western Conference with a 3-11 record. Hopefully, for whoever bought Wemby's NBA debut jersey, the highly-touted Frenchman will live up to the hype.
Mavs fans, on the other hand ... well, they hope it ends up being a bad investment.
NOV 11 MAVS ANALYST ROASTS JAMES HARDEN ON LIVE TV – Before the Dallas Mavericks took on the struggling Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night at American Airlines Center, Mavs TV analyst Brian Dameris didn't hold back when addressing Clippers' recently-acquired star James Harden.
During the two-minute rant, Dameris details every stop of Harden's career and all of his abrupt exits, saying, "I get on my knees every night and pray for someone to believe in me like Daryl Morey believed in you."
Dameris finishes his two-minute rant by noting that if you are continuously moving around and claiming to have bad roommates everywhere you go, perhaps it is you who is the bad roommate. "You're not the beard, you're not the system, you're the problem."
Harden ended the night with 14 points on 3-6 shooting in 29 minutes. The Mavs walloped the Clippers, 144-126, dropping them to 0-3 in the Harden era.

NOV 10 MAVS COURT ISSUES? — The Dallas Mavericks are playing their second In-Season Tournament game on Friday night against the Los Angeles Clippers, but it’ll be the first one played at American Airlines Center. This was supposed to mean the debut of the Mavs’ new uniforms and court, but it looks like the court is going to have to wait for a later date.
“The Mavericks will play tonight’s game on their core court due to a manufacturing issue with the team’s In-Season Tournament court,” an NBA Spokesperson said (H/T ESPN’s Tim MacMahon).
Although the Mavs won’t be debuting their new court tonight, fans should still get their money’s worth at the game given the star power it will have with Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, James Harden, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. Dallas is looking to bounce back from its first home loss of the season, and Los Angeles is trying to win its first road game, so Friday night at AAC should be a good one.

NOV 6 NBA DONE WITH BALLY SPORTS? — Dallas Mavericks fans, rejoice! After this season, there will be no more headaches that come along with difficulties watching Mavs games on Bally Sports. According to John Ourand of the Sports Business Journal.
“Diamond Sports Group reached a one-season deal with the NBA that essentially guarantees that the Bally Sports RSNs will continue to carry NBA games through the end of this season. Diamond and the NBA unveiled some of the deal’s details in a bankruptcy court filing this afternoon. The court still needs to okay the deal before it can move forward,” Ourand wrote.
“The NBA likes this deal because it gives the league more flexibility as Diamond tries to navigate its way through bankruptcy. Regardless of the current length of some of the NBA teams’ Bally Sports deals, all are set to end after this season.”
This will be a big win for not only the Mavs, but the NBA overall. Perhaps now fans everywhere will be able to watch their team play without having outdated blackout restrictions.
NOV 6 DERRICK JONES JR. BRINGS DOWN THE HOUSE – Although the Dallas Mavericks were playing in their first back-to-back of the young NBA season on Monday night against the Orlando Magic, veteran forward Derrick Jones Jr. wasn't showing any signs of having heavy legs.
Jones, who has always been known for his high-flying ability, took flight and threw down a rim-rocking dunk off a Kyrie Irving steal. The dunk drew the attention of everyone in the building, and Jones ended up getting a technical foul due to hanging on the rim too long. We personally think they should've let this one slide, though.
NOV 2 MAVS PRESENT NEW CITY EDITION JERSEY — On Thursday, the Dallas Mavericks released the first look at their 2023-24 City Edition uniforms, the Trinity River Blues.
Grammy Award-winning artist and Fort Worth's own Leon Bridges helped unveil the city edition jersey as this year's theme is about honoring the impact that Blues music has had on the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
Per the Mavs, the meaning behind the Trinity River Blues moniker is to "honor more than a century of rich cultural influence in one of the birthplaces of American Blues music, right in our backyard."
The uniforms contains audio waves inside of the state of Texas along with handwritten words from Bridges on the left side of the uniform and guitar strings on the right.
Check out the video unveiling the uniforms below.
OCT 31 JAME HARDEN TRADED TO L.A. — In the early hours of Tuesday morning, multiple reports surfaced stating that the Philadelphia 76ers have traded James Harden to the Los Angeles Clippers. The final trade details, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski: Clippers send Marcus Morris, Nic Batum, Robert Covington, KJ Martin, multiple draft picks and a pick swap for Harden.
The Dallas Mavericks already had a tough In-Season Tournament draw before this trade happened, as they’re grouped in with the reigning NBA champion Denver Nuggets, New Orleans Pelicans and Clippers. Now, the Clippers have gotten better, at least on paper, by assembling a Big 3 of Harden, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
Luka Doncic has never let the Clippers’ star power deter him from dropping big numbers on them every time he plays them, and we shouldn’t expect anything different now. The Mavs’ In-Season Tournament games against the Clippers is on Nov. 10 at American Airlines Center. Get your popcorn ready.
OCT 30 MAVS SHOOTAROUND IN MEMPHIS Before the Dallas Mavericks play the Memphis Grizzlies at FedEx Forum, the team participated in a shootaround. Watch the extended footage from it, featuring Dereck Lively II getting shots up from 3 with Michael Finley, and much more.
The Mavs will look to improve to 3-0 for the first time since the 2004-05 season with a win against a depleted Grizzlies squad. Memphis will play without Ja Morant (league suspension), Steven Adams (right knee sprain), Santi Aldama (right ankle sprain), Brandon Clarke (left Achilles tendon repair), and Luke Kennard (concussion protocol).
OCT 28 MAVS PRACTICE SHOOTING GAME During the Dallas Mavericks' practice on Saturday, the team participated in a shooting competition that featured half the roster being on "Team Luka" while the other half was on "Team Kyrie." You can watch the shooting competition in the video below.
The competition comes during the first two days off for the Mavs before they face the Memphis Grizzlies at FedEx Forum on Sunday. The team has remained active, taking advantage of practice days since returning from their 12-day international trip.
OCT 27 LUKA MAGIC STRIKES AGAIN – The Dallas Mavericks were tied at 120-120 with the Brooklyn Nets late in the fourth quarter of Friday night's matchup when 'Luka Magic' took the breath away of all the fans in attendance at American Airlines Center.
With just under 30 seconds left, Luka Doncic, who finished the game with an efficient 49 points, hit an unbelievable one-handed 3-pointer from the right wing over former teammate Dorian Finney-Smith. The Mavs went on to win the game, 125-120, and improve to 2-0.
The Mavs will carry their good vibes on the road again, as they'll take on the currently-winless Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night.
OCT 25 IRVING, SHAMMGOD PLAY HORSE DURING PREGAME WORKOUT — There's nothing like opening night of the NBA season. For the Dallas Mavericks, they open up the 2023-24 season on the road against No. 1 pick Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs.
Prior to tip-off on Wednesday, Mavs guard Kyrie Irving played HORSE during his pregame workout with Mavs player development coach God Shammgod.
We all know Shammgod has top tier handles, but can he compete with Irving in a shot making competition? Check out the video below to find out.
OCT 23 MAVS ROOKIES JOIN THE NIKE FAMILY — With the start of the 2023-24 NBA season just one day away, it was only right that Dallas Mavericks rookies Dereck Lively II and O-Max Prosper secured a shoe deal before they hit the floor.
On Monday, ESPN's Nick DePaula reported that Lively and Prosper were among 13 rookies, alongside the No. 1 pick Victor Wembanyama, who have signed shoe deals with Nike.
Lively wore Nike at Duke while Prosper sported Jordan Brand at Marquette, so both are very familiar being a member of the Swoosh family.
Check out the photo of Lively and Prosper amongst their fellow rookies and Nike athletes below.
