In preparation for the World Cup, which begins on August 25, Slovenia and Greece are playing in an international friendly match today. However, Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic isn't being friendly to opposing defenders.

During the first quarter, Doncic, who looks to be in the best shape of his life, had his way against Greece, getting whatever he wanted whenever he wanted it. Among the several strong plays Doncic made toward the basket, one stood out more than the rest, as he shook off a Greece defender and stared him down before finishing an and-1.

"It was a long summer for me, I'm happy to be back," Doncic said, via rtvslo.si. "I'm looking forward to training and matches. I'm honored to be the captain, we decided that with the coach and players. It's a pleasure to play for the national team, I haven't played since April 10, I can't wait for the games."

Given that Doncic is already in great physical shape ahead of World Cup competition, that should carry over into Mavs training camp, which begins at the end of September. Doncic, Kyrie Irving and a revamped Dallas roster look to get back to the postseason after missing it during the 2022-23 season.

Doncic subbed out about halfway through the first quarter of today's friendly match, and Slovenia led Greece 29-22 at the end of the frame. Stay tuned to DallasBasketball.com for more updates on this matchup throughout the day.
