'Headband Luka' Dominates Utah Jazz; Dallas Mavs Up Big with Doncic's History-Making Triple-Double

Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic torched the Utah Jazz in the first half of Wednesday's game to the tune of 29 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. That's right ... a first-half triple-double.

Heading into Wednesday's game against the Utah Jazz, the Dallas Mavericks knew they had to bring the energy after dropping two consecutive games and six of their last nine, especially considering that they'd had three days of rest.

The Mavs did just that in the first half, as Luka Doncic has a massive 29-point, 10-rebound, 10-assists stat line with Dallas up on Utah 74-51 at the break. Doncic is shooting 10-17 from the field and 6-10 from deep. It was the first 25-point first-half triple-double in NBA history.

Doncic had a different look about him at the start of this one, as he donned a headband. We've all seen what "Headband Luka" has been capable of doing in practices, but this is the first time we've gotten a chance to see it in a real game. There's still 24 minutes to go in this one, but if Doncic keeps this up, head coach Jason Kidd might have to make sure his superstar is wearing a headband in every game from this point forward.

Doncic's co-star Kyrie Irving had himself a solid first half as well, putting up 16 points on 7-10 shooting from the field to go with three assists. Doncic is a +22 at the break, and Irving is a +14.

Mavs' Dereck Lively II Shows Major Growth as Short Roll Scorer

If the Mavs can hold on and secure this win against the Jazz, they'll have a real win to string together multiple wins for the first time since Nov. 12.
