Kyrie Irving Claps Back at Dave Portnoy on Twitter Over LeBron James Trade Rumor

Old pals Kyrie Irving and Dave Portnoy put the Twitter fingers to work on Monday over the reported discussions between Irving and LeBron James.
In this story:

The Dallas Mavericks found themselves the talk of NBA Twitter on Monday despite their season ending two months ago. The topic? None other than Kyrie Irving reportedly trying to get former running mate LeBron James to join him in Dallas.

The report first came from The Athletic's Shams Charania, which was followed up by a confirmation from Bleacher Report's Chris Haynes

This sent NBA Twitter up in flames with speculation whether James would ever consider coming to Dallas or if the two are in cahoots trying to gain leverage to better both of their situations.

Someone who had front row seats to watching Irving come, and leave, their team is Barstool Sports President Dave Portnoy, who fired up the Twitter fingers to clown Irving and his 'scam.’

"It's amazing how many seemingly intelligent people fall for the Kyrie scam," Portnoy tweeted which was kicked off by eight clown emojis.

Well, I'm sure when Irving was traded to Boston in Aug. 2017, Mr. Portnoy found himself all aboard the so-called "scam” express before things went awry. Portnoy, like most Boston Celtics fans, aren't too fond of Irving after he opted to bounce from Boston to the Brooklyn Nets after just two seasons in the green and white. And when you compare Barstool's target market versus who Irving and his core following, the two couldn't be on further ends of the spectrum.

Portnoy can hate Irving all he wants, but he may want to focus his attention on his Celtics and their disappointing finish to the season instead. Be well, David.
