‘Masterpiece of Dogsh**’: Utah Jazz Coach Will Hardy Rips Team After 50-Point Loss to Dallas Mavs
The Utah Jazz were at a major disadvantage on Wednesday night, having to play against Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks without several key players, including Lauri Markkanen and Jordan Clarkson.
Even so, NBA players are still considered to be the best in the world, and Jazz head coach Will Hardy ripped his team after an embarrassing 147-97 loss to the Mavs.
“That was an absolutely horrendous performance from start to finish. That was a masterpiece of dogsh**,” Hardy said. “I really don’t know how to describe that game. Credit to the Mavericks, they shot the ball very well, especially early, then kind of continued it throughout, shooting 45 percent from 3. They made 22 3s tonight, which is tough to overcome.
“I haven’t been disappointed in our team very often this year, but I think tonight, from the beginning of the game, it’s hard to place what the reason is, but it seemed like the Mavericks were moving at a different pace from start to finish.”
As bad of a night as Utah had, it was also a bit of a perfect storm, as the Mavs had lost two consecutive disappointing games at home and desperately wanted to salvage the home stand with a 2-2 split.
"Yeah [that is one of the most complete team performances this season]. It was good. I thought the starters set the tone in both halves. Everybody who played, played the right way. It was a complete game,” Mavs head coach Jason Kidd said.

"I think the character and the bounce back has been good. I think we're starting to see, with injuries, different guys being able to step up and play a different role. Seth [Curry] played some minutes there early on and then we took him out of the rotation and let [Jaden] Hardy get some of those minutes. Then for Seth to be put back in that situation, he responded positively. The pace of play -- getting out and playing faster has helped us in a big way. Our bounce back, being able to learn from our mistakes and being able to go to the next game."
Next up, the Mavs make a trip to the northwest to take on the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday, followed by another road game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday. Dallas has as good of a chance as any to win consecutive games for the first time since Nov. 12.
