Mavs Rookie Olivier-Maxence Prosper 'Super Excited' to Play with Luka Doncic

The Mavericks' rookie out of Marquette is ready to play alongside Dallas superstar Luka Doncic.

Heading into the offseason, Mavs GM Nico Harrison preached the importance of upgrading Dallas' defense and rebounding for next season.

Well, after the NBA draft on Thursday, the Mavericks have already upgraded at both needs as Dallas landed rookies Dereck Lively II and Olivier-Maxence Prosper during the draft, while also trading for veteran center Richaun Holmes.

Following being drafted, Prosper spoke to the media on his excitement of landing with the Mavericks, specifically playing alongside Luka Doncic.

"Super excited to play alongside guys like Luka Doncic," Prosper said. "Playing alongside and being able to complement a guy like him, and to help this team get back to where they want to be and win a lot of games, that's what I'm here for."

O-Max hasn't stepped foot on the floor at American Airlines Center and he's already talking how you'd want your defensive-minded rookie to. What Prosper will bring to the Mavericks on day one is a versatile defender, who can guard multiple positions along with defending the rim on the weakside.

Playing alongside the likes of Doncic, and potentially Kyrie Irving, having versatile wings who can both excel on the defensive end but also knock down open looks from outside and be willing a willing cutter or screener -- and that's exactly what O-Max brings to the table for Dallas.

"I want to help them win," Prosper said. "I'm super excited to get there and get to work, grow and keep getting better and help this team get better. Super excited."

And Dallas is super excited to have you, O-Max.
