"If at first you don't succeed ... try, try again."

That phrase might as well be Dallas Mavericks shooting guard Tim Hardaway Jr.'s motto, as he has that Kobe Bryant "Mamba Mentality" when it comes to shooting the rock. No matter how many times he misses a shot, he comes back on his next try with the mindset that he's going to make it.

That was on full display on Wednesday night at American Airlines Center as the Mavs took on the Los Angeles Clippers. Late in the second quarter, with Dallas trailing by double-digits and needing a spark, Hardaway took four shots in one possession from nearly the same spot before finally seeing a 3-pointer go in.

In a way, this was the perfect microcosm of the Hardaway experience. Sometimes he will be cold, but seeing just one shot go through can change everything. Hardaway then nailed another 3-pointer on the following possession to help the Mavs close out the first half strong, leading to a second-half surge.
