There has been an increasing buzz around the Nets World on whether Kevin Durant would be presented with a warming video tribute in his first official return to the Barclays Center since the Brooklyn Nets dealt him last season in a blockbuster trade. While many fans have mixed reactions about the said matter, KD himself has already implied that he isn't hoping to have one on Wednesday night as he and the Phoenix Suns pay a visit to Brooklyn.

But knowing Durant and how he delivered in the past two and a half seasons, Cam Thomas believes that a video honoring is already in place to welcome the former Nets superstar.

A video tribute is already locked in in KD's return

Thomas stands as a proud scoring student of Durant's tenure in Brooklyn.

For the 23-year-old, KD’s recent X reactions are just a plain presentation of his usual trollish demeanor. And for him, Durant just rightfully deserves to get his video tribute from the franchise regardless of how their partnership has ended and how their run turned out to be a disappointing one.

“I think that they'll give one. KD just be trolling. You know what he do. I’m sure they’ll give him one. He did a lot here, whether people say he didn't; he did a lot for New York. He just be trolling. Don’t listen to Kevin.”

Nets’ video tribute for KD: TBD

Durant cemented himself as Brooklyn's centerpiece of their past arc, averaging 29.0 points, 7.1 boards, 5.8 assists, and 53.5 percent shooting for 129 total regular season games.

Together with Kyrie Irving, their lofty tandem and championship aspirations in the Nets went upside down for the last three seasons. In the end, both sides decided to split up in the mid-season of 2022-23 as the team acquired Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, four first-round picks, and a 2028 draft swap for his caliber.

A video tribute can only be fully determined on Wednesday. Nevertheless, no one can deny that KD poured his best in his time as Brooklyn's main man.
