Despite Cameron Thomas' 41 points, the Nets could not withstand the Golden State Warriors. It was a grueling result for Brooklyn as they lost in another close game, 120-124. This could've been a winnable game, but they lacked depth to keep up with the Warriors.

Nic Claxton had a superb game with 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Spencer Dinwiddie chipped in with a massive double-double of his own with 16 points and 14 assists. Mikal Bridges did not have the best game, as he only had 18 points.

With these performances, there are some significant takeaways for the Jacuque Vaughn's squad.

A promising game from Thomas

Having faced a series of underwhelming outings lately, Thomas appeared poised for a standout performance, and indeed, he came through. Accumulating an impressive 41 points, he exhibited scoring versatility, making successful shots ranging from beyond the arc to skillful finishes in the paint.

This was a return to his level of performance. He started the 2023/24 season with a bang, highlighted by a 45-point performance against the Milwaukee Bucks.

This was what the Nets have been missing over the past few games, as Cam was struggling with his efficiency.

Nic Claxton continues to be a superb center

In a standout performance, Claxton demonstrated his multifaceted skills, securing a formidable double-double while also showcasing defensive prowess with four crucial blocks. His versatility played a significant role in controlling both ends of the court for the Nets; unfortunately, it didn't pay off in the end.

Despite Day'Ron Sharpe's limited playing time and performance struggles in the game, Claxton's solid intangibles make him a trusted defensive anchor and a growing force on offense, earning the confidence of Coach Jacque Vaughn for future matchups.

Brooklyn needs their bench players to return

Lonnie Walker IV, Dennis Smith Jr., and Dorian Finney-Smith were the notable players missing from the Nets lineup. The squad needed them in this game, as the bench only had 13 points. Lonnie himself could eclipse that amount on his own, but he's still dealing with a hamstring injury.

DSJ and DFS excel in both offense and superb defense, serving as valuable defensive stoppers for the Nets when Mikal rests.

Looking ahead, the Nets aim to bounce back in their December 17 matchup against the Utah Jazz, with Lauri Markkanen still sidelined.
