The Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets faced off in the 2020 Western Conference Finals, and are now set for the rematch in 2023. While both teams have made significant roster changes since then, the core stars remain on both sides, with LeBron James and Anthony Davis vs. Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.

When asked about this rematch following Friday night's series clinching win over the Golden State Warriors, Lakers star Anthony Davis said, "We're a different team. I think the biggest thing for us, obviously having [Dwight Howard] to disrupt Jokic a little bit [in 2020]. He's obviously one of the two guys that gets them going, him and Jamal Murray. It's funny, me and [LeBron] talked about it earlier, about going back and watching that series, and kinda see what we did and figure out how we can best matchup and get victories over them. So we will go back and look at it, but I think the biggest key was just kinda make the ball find the guys we want it to find, and just play off of that."

The Lakers eliminated the Nuggets in that 2020 Western Conference Finals, and went on to defeat the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals. Looking to get back to that stage, LA will have to go through Jokic and the Nuggets once again.
