Prime Dwight Howard has quickly become one of the most underrated players in NBA history. Left off the NBA's 75th Anniversary team, Howard's career has somehow been forgotten by many. With eight All-Star selections, eight All-NBA team selections, five All-Defensive selections, and three Defensive Player of the Year awards, Howard is undoubtedly one of the greats.

When asked recently if he would take the prime version of himself over the prime version of Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic, Howard said he is taking himself all day every day. It's an interesting debate, as both players are much different despite playing the same position, and both have accomplishments the other does not.

For Howard, his three Defensive Player of the Year awards are tied for second-most all-time. That said, he does not have an MVP award, while Jokic already has two. Prime Dwight was not the scorer Jokic is, and nowhere near the passer, but his defense was unmatched by anybody in the league, which certainly holds weight.

What's interesting about Nikola Jokic, is that the story of his prime is still being written. Already a two-time league MVP, the Nuggets star has an opportunity to add an NBA Championship and Finals MVP to his resume this year. Howard won a championship with the Lakers in 2020, but was well beyond his prime at that point.

Debates like these are fun, and Howard is taking himself.
