Lakers Player Ruled OUT for Game 1 vs. Nuggets
The Los Angeles Lakers have released their injury report for Game 1 vs. the Denver Nuggets, and Mo Bamba has officially been ruled out with an ankle injury. Bamba has appeared in just three games during this postseason, totaling 10 minutes of play.
Bamba played nine regular season games with the Lakers after being acquired at the trade deadline, and has served primarily as a depth piece in their front court when he's been available. Bamba's floor spacing at the five projected to add a new layer to LA's bench unit, but injuries have limited the amount of time he has spent on the floor. Now with the Lakers deep into their playoff run, and Bamba still battling injuries, it's hard to see him playing a significant role at some point in this postseason.
While Bamba may not have a large role with the Lakers this postseason even if he does get healthy, his skillset is one that helps add usable depth if needed. Bamba appeared in 40 games with the Orlando Magic this season before being traded to the Lakers, and averaged 7.3 PPG and 4.6 RPG in 17 minutes per contest. His 39.8% clip from deep is what enticed many about his potential fit off LA's bench, but it just has not come to fruition so far.
Listed out for Game 1, Bamba will not be available for the Western Conference Finals opener.
