Los Angeles Lakers Make Massive Lineup Change vs Denver Nuggets
The Los Angeles Lakers are in desperation mode against the Denver Nuggets tonight in Game 4. After going down 3-0, a situation no team has ever come back from, the team has made an unexpected lineup change.
According to a report from Chris Haynes, the Los Angeles Lakers are starting Dennis Schröder, Austin Reaves, LeBron James, Rui Hachimura, and Anthony Davis against the Denver Nuggets in Game 4. This means that D'Angelo Russell has moved into the bench in place of Rui Hachimura.
Russell has seen a huge share of struggles in this series against the Denver Nuggets, while Rui Hachimura has been thriving all playoffs, but especially in this series against Denver. In three games, Rui Hachimura is averaging 17 points on 64/50/100 shooting. Meanwhile, D'Angelo Russell is averaging 7 points and 4 assists on 30/14/75 shooting. In theory, it's a smart move by the Lakers, but it may be too little too late against the Denver Nuggets.
Every single game against the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers has been close, but at the end of the day, the Nuggets have always persevered in the final moments. They've been that team all season and were the first seed in the NBA for a reason. The Lakers may win Game 4 with the lineup change, but there's a reason why no one has ever come back down from 3-0.
