NBA Admits Missed Calls in Lakers vs. Nuggets Game
Through three Western Conference Finals games, only one has included a Last Two Minute Report with admitted missed calls from the NBA. Game 1 had a clean Last Two Minute Report, and Game 3 was not close enough to produce one, but the NBA did admit several missed calls in Game 2 of this series.
According to the NBA, there were four missed calls in the final two minutes of Game 2, three of which disadvantaged the Nuggets, and one that disadvantaged the Lakers.
The first missed call the NBA detailed in their Last Two Minute Report for Game 2 came when Anthony Davis should have been called for a defensive three-second violation with 1:49 remaining. This was one of two missed defensive three-second violations on Davis in the final two minutes, as the other occurred with 50 seconds remaining.
While Davis was the beneficiary of two missed defensive three-second violations, he was the disadvantaged player on the one missed call that hurt the Lakers in the final minutes of Game 2. On a turnover with 1:38 remaining, the NBA admits that Davis was actually fouled by Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. before throwing the ball away.
The final missed call from Game 2 came when LeBron James traveled with 22 seconds remaining, but the officiating crew did not call it. As previously mentioned, Game 2 is the only game so far in this series with missed calls in the Last Two Minute Report.
