Nikola Jokic has reportedly won Serbia's Most Influential Person award for this year. In a video that was first uploaded on Tik Tok, Jokic spoke on the honor, sharing a message in Serbian that was translated to English on Twitter:

"I would like to thank to Ministry and Minister of Foreign Affairs for the award for contribution to the diplomacy and promotion of Serbia in the world," Jokic said. "I have usually received awards like this on the basketball court, so this is a little bit different for me. But if I have contributed, even a little bit, that people in the world like Serbia and see it as a friend, I think I did nice thing for my country. Basketball, and sports in general, is something that we are recognizable worldwide, and I think that is the right way to show how much Serbia is beautiful and how many good and hard-working people live in it. I hope that I represented it in the right way and that I perhaps have made an example to some younger people. I only have left to promise that I will continue to try to represent Serbia in a right way, and to justify the trust that my country has given me. Thank you one more time."

Jokic is not only a great representative for Serbia, but he is a great representation of international basketball, which continues to show its greatness at the NBA level.
