Indiana Pacers enter draft week with another workout featuring two players
The Indiana Pacers will continue their prep entering NBA Draft week as they will bring in more players for a pre-draft workout on Monday.
Per an announcement from the team, June 19th's workout will feature Toumani Camara from Dayton and Maxwell Lewis from Pepperdine. It will be the second time that the blue and gold have brought in two players for a dual workout in this draft cycle, with the other coming on June 10.
Per a tweet from the Pacers, this is the team's final pre-draft workout. That brings the total to 63 players the franchise brought in for a closer look across 16 workouts. It was a busy year of prep for Indiana, who owns five picks in the draft.
Lewis is projected to be selected 28th overall by the Utah Jazz in ESPN's latest mock draft. Since the Pacers own picks 26 and 29, he could be in their range. The forward averaged 17.1 points per game in his final NCAA season, knocking down 52.6% of his shots along the way. He shined on the glass as well.
Camara, meanwhile, is currently slotted in at 55th overall in the latest ESPN mock. Indiana actually owns that pick. He averaged 13.9 points and 8.6 rebounds per game for Dayton this past season.
This will be Camara's second workout with the team. He was part of a group that auditioned for the team on June 2. "Just trying to enjoy the moment," he said after his first workout. "Take as much as I can out of it."
Both players could be interesting fits for the blue and gold at different parts of the draft. Indiana needs forward depth, but they will have some decisions to ponder concerning how many selections they will actually make on draft night. The NBA Draft is on Thursday.
