INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Pacers star point guard Tyrese Haliburton will participate in the 3-Point Contest during 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend later this month.

Haliburton will participate in a field that will reportedly include Donovan Mithcell, Damian Lillard, Malik Beasley, Jalen Brunson, and Lauri Markkanen, among others. The event will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium on February 17 at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.

The All-Star guard did the event last year, when he finished third place. In second was Pacers guard Buddy Hield, and Lillard was the winner. Just after the contest, Haliburton said that he will do the event again in 2024. He's following through with that now.

"I'm excited about it," Haliburton said of All-Star weekend earlier today. "I have to be excited, I have to play in all these things!" He joked that he will be a part of every event at All-Star weekend.

He has already been named an All-Star and will reportedly take part in the Skills Challenge

Haliburton is a worthy participant in the three-point contest — he's shooting 39.7% from long range on nearly eight three-point attempts per game this season. Only four other players (CJ McCollum, Paul George, Steph Curry, and Markkanen) are matching both his accuracy and volume this campaign.

It will be fun for Haliburton to participate in many events during All-Star weekend because it's taking place in Indianapolis, where he plays. He enjoys the city and is under contract with Indiana for the next six seasons.

There are banners at the Indianapolis airport, on buildings downtown, and inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse with Haliburton's face on them. He's a marquee player for the Pacers and will represent them well at All-Star Weekend. That will include the three-point contest.
