HOUSTON — Danny Green is on the move before playing one game with the Houston Rockets. Green has signed a one-year deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers following his buyout from the Rockets on Sunday, as first reported by ESPN.

The Rockets acquired Green from the Memphis Grizzlies ahead of the NBA trade deadline Thursday afternoon. Green was part of a three-team trade that sent Eric Gordon to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Former five-time All-Star John Wall was a part of the deal. But according to general manager Rafael Stone, the Rockets will waive Wall.

A source told Inside The Rockets Houston wanted to use the 35-year-old veteran as a spot-up shooter off the bench. Houston is currently 29th in 3-point shooting (32.8 percent).

Due to a torn ACL and LCL injury to his left knee, Green's recovery limited him to three games with the Grizzlies this season. He shot 37.5 percent from deep while averaging 14.3 minutes.

Green sustained the knee injury during the Philadelphia 76ers' second-round series against the Miami Heat in May.

Green is rejoining the Cavaliers after starting his career in Cleveland following the 2009 NBA Draft. He was a second-round pick (no. 46 overall), who only played 20 games before joining the San Antonio Spurs the following year.
