Despite having a career year, Houston Rockets' Alperen Sengun came up short of landing his first All-Star nod.

Houston Rockets' Alperen Sengun came up short of his first All-Star selection. The "Inside the NBA" crew on TNT announced the western conference reserves for the 2024 All-Star Game Thursday night.

Sengun, 21, is averaging 21.7 points and 9.2 rebounds this season for the Rockets, both career-highs as he develops into Houston's franchise cornerstone.

Sengun will be at the top of the list when it comes to All-Star snubs. However, NBA commentator JJ Redick believes Sengun should have received his first All-Star honor this season.

"I feel like this is a guy who's going to make 8-9 All-Star games, multiple All-NBA teams," Redick said. "If the Rockets build this thing right, [he'll] be in the conversation for at least top 5-6 for MVP - I believe this guy is that good."

However, the fact that he's already playing at an All-Star level in his early 20s provides a preview into what's to come for Sengun. While there's no guarantee for anything, he will certainly add an All-Star selection to his name in the near future.

The 2024 Western Conference All-Star roster will be represented by: Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns), Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors), Anthony Davis (Los Angeles Lakers), Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves), Paul George (LA Clippers), Kawhi Leonard (LA Clippers) and Karl-Anthony Towns (Minnesota Timberwolves).
