WATCH: Rockets' Dillon Brooks' Favorite Canadian?
As Team Canada prepares for the FIBA World Cup tip-off on Saturday, the players were asked to pick their favorite celebrity between rapper Drake and actor Ryan Reynolds.
13-of-the-14 players in the video, including Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and New York Knicks small forward RJ Barrett, named Drake as their favorite celebrity over Reynolds.
However, Houston Rockets small forward Dillon Brooks was the only player that chose the movie star.
Nevertheless, Brooks has been known for outlying remarks, especially when he tried to get inside the head of Los Angeles Lakers small forward LeBron James in last year's playoff series.
"I poke bears,” Brooks said. "I don't care—he's old. I don't respect no one until they come and (score) 40. I just let him know that 'you can't take me one-on-one. You haven't. You go look at the film.'”
Brooks is one of the newest members of the Rockets organization after being signed to a four-year, $180 million deal on July 1.
While it's widely considered that the former Memphis Grizzly was overpaid, his 94-feet mentality also makes him stand out. Brooks was a member of the NBA's All-Defensive Second Team because of his ability to lock down some of the best players in the league throughout the season…and yes, that includes his controversial tangles with James.
Brooks averaged 14.3 points. 3.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 30.3 minutes per game last season.
In his four FIBA World Cup exhibitions thus far, Brooks has logged 7.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 22 minutes per game.
