Rockets' Jalen Green, Cam Whitmore Compared to NBA Legends
The Houston Rockets have two of the most athletic guards in the league in Jalen Green and Cam Whitmore.
Both of them are viewed as high-volume scorers for the Rockets with bright futures, and that sentiment is echoed by Los Angeles Clippers coach Ty Lue.
“T-Mac and Vince Carter when they got to Toronto,” Clippers head coach Ty Lue said via The Athletic. “It reminds me a lot of those two guys. Two very athletic guys understanding how to figure it out how to play with one another. Kind of the same duo over here in Houston.”
McGrady and Carter only played two seasons together with the Toronto Raptors before the former signed with the Orlando Magic in 2000, but both players were seen as high-flying athletes who could have dominated the league together if they remained teammates.
It remains to be seen how long Green and Whitmore will have that chance together in Houston. Green has just one more year on his contract before he hits restricted free agency next year, which could make him a trade target for the foreseeable future.

However, if the Rockets opt to extend Green and have him grow alongside Whitmore, the two could make for a dangerous pair moving forward.
Green, Whitmore and the Rockets are back in action tonight against the Portland Trail Blazers. Tipoff is set for 9 p.m. CT.
