Rockets Signing Dillon Brooks: 'Worst Offseason Move'?

Dillon Brooks signed a four-year, $86 million contract with the Houston Rockets this offseason.

The Houston Rockets are making moves this offseason and look very different from the team that walked off the court in early April.

Some transactions were more popular than others, and Dillon Brooks' four-year, $86 million contract was among the least appreciated.

"Yes, this team needed defense and veterans," Bleacher Report writes. "No, this wasn't the right contract or player for the Rockets to invest in. This was easily one of the offseason's worst moves from any team."

The Rockets needed defense and an edge in the physicality department this offseason. Brooks checks off both boxes, but considering how the end of his tenure with the Memphis Grizzlies went, it's understanding as to why people thinking Houston signing him was a counterproductive move.

Last season, Brooks averaged 14.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 73 games. He struggled to find his footing in the playoffs and made headlines for trash talking LeBron James in what proved to be an early playoff exit.

After his LeBron entanglement, the Grizzlies issued an unusual public statement to tell the world he was not being invited back ... but now he heads to Houston to prove why he was a good offseason signing for the Rockets.
