Nets vs. Spurs: 3 Best Bets

Before the San Antonio Spurs host the Brooklyn Nets, we have you covered with our three best bets for the game.

For the second game in a row, the San Antonio Spurs will play host in Austin. The Spurs dropped the first game to the Denver Nuggets, who were not fans of playing outside of San Antonio. Tonight, the Spurs aim to beat the Brooklyn Nets.

The Spurs lost by 20 in their lone matchup this season against the Nets, and Brooklyn had a field day against Victor Wembanyama, who scored 21 points but was held to only four rebounds and a single block.

Brooklyn will be without Ben Simmons, Dariq Whitehead, and Dorian Finney-Smith. The Spurs are once again not playing Charles Bassey and Cedi Osman.

Keep it posted here for our three best bets, powered by the lines at SI Sportsbook

The Lines

Point spread: Nets +1.5 (-110)/Spurs -1.5 (-118)

Money line: Nets (+100)/Spurs (-125)

Over/under: 217.5

Our Picks

Safe pick: Victor Wembanyama OVER 21.5 points (-125)

Despite a relatively poor showing against Brooklyn last time, Wembanyama still hit 21 points. While Nic Claxton is a solid rim protector, he isn't really a match for Wemby in the post or in the paint. Granted, Wembanyama hasn't passed this line in either of his last two games, but expect him to take control tonight.

Opponent pick: Mikal Bridges UNDER 18.5 points (-118)

Bridges only scored 14 points last time he faced this Spurs squad, and hasn't been an offensive weapon as of late. Averaging 16.2 points over his last five games, he is shooting 43.8 percent from deep but only 39.1 percent from the floor, so as long as he doesn't get hot from distance, he shouldn't be a major concern.

Wembanyama Boldly Puts Gobert on Notice Over DPOY Reign

Passing pick: Tre Jones OVER 6.5 assists (-158)

Not the most exciting odds, but Tre Jones has been solid with the rock all season. Over his last five games, he's averaged 8.8 assists and posted double-digit dimes twice in that span. A true pass-first player, expect Jones to lead both sides in assists.
