Nuggets vs. Spurs: 3 Best Bets for Austin Showdown

The San Antonio Spurs will host the Denver Nuggets in Austin.

The San Antonio Spurs will play the Denver Nuggets for the second time this season, although this matchup will be played in Austin, Texas. As a part of the Spurs expanding their brand throughout the state, they will play two "home" games in the state capital.

The Nuggets have won nine of their last ten and are riding a four-game win streak. They dispatched the Spurs by 12 points earlier in the season in large part thanks to a 39-point near triple-double by Nikola Jokic.

Both teams are fairly healthy heading into the matchup. The Spurs have Charles Bassey and Cedi Osman listed out, and the Nuggets will be without Vlatko Cancar.

The Lines

Point spread: Nuggets -10.5 (-118)/Spurs +10.5 (-110)

Money line: Nuggets (-568)/Spurs (+390)

Over/under: 223.5

Our Picks

Safe pick: Victor Wembanyama OVER 21.5 points (-120)

In the earlier matchup against the Nuggets, Victor Wembanyama posted one of the better games of his young career, with 22 points, 11 rebounds, six steals, and four blocks. Nikola Jokic is an underrated defender, but he is no match for Wembanyama down low, who will be leading the way for the Spurs.

Opponent pick: Nikola Jokic to record a triple-double (+163)

Jokic came one assist shy from recording a triple-double in the last matchup and has in five of Denver's last ten games. His getting ten points and ten rebounds should be a given, and with a deterrent at the rim, expect him to find the open man on the perimeter with relative ease.

Wemby vs. Gobert: Who Wins DPOY?

Parlay pick: Devin Vassell OVER 18.5 points and Tre Jones OVER 5.5 assists (+190)

Devin Vassell recorded a six-point dud in the most recent loss, but in the five games prior to that, he averaged 22.8 points on solid shooting. Tre Jones has been a maestro with the ball recently, averaging eight assists and just 1.4 turnovers over the last five games. Plus, in the last game against Denver, both Jones and Vassell came off the bench and still managed to hit these lines.
