Spurs' Devin Vassell Praises Teammates After Win vs. Thunder
The San Antonio Spurs are buzzing after pulling out a rare win on Thursday against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Among those buzzing was shooting guard Devin Vassell, who had nothing but nice things to say about his teammates following the win.
“I think everybody played a big part, obviously, today. I can go down the line and name everybody who was hooping, but it's a bunch of guys who put in," Vassell said. "I think Jeremy really woke up that fourth quarter. He got us going, defensively, and offensively he got going. A pivotal moment, Victor shoots a crazy three, and I'm looking at him like there's no way he shot that then it goes down."
Vassell should be taking his praise and giving some to himself as well. He scored 28 points of his own while dishing out nine assists in the win. Vassell has played in all 12 wins so far this season for the Spurs, scoring at least 15 points or more in all but one.
Vassell is viewed by many as one of the key pieces to surround Wembanyama, and if he can play the role of a strong second or third scoring option, the Spurs will be far better off than having to go find him on the open market.

Vassell and the Spurs are back in action tomorrow when they take on Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. CT from the Frost Bank Center.
