The San Antonio Spurs are continuing their losing streak after a 117-98 loss to the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night at TD Garden.

Despite not playing former Spurs guard Derrick White, the NBA-best Celtics cruised to a 25-point lead at halftime and waltzed to a win from there.

Boston was led by MVP candidate Jayson Tatum, who scored 24 points on 9 of 21 shooting. He wasn't the only star to shine for the Celtics tonight. Jrue Holiday and Jaylen Brown also dropped more than 20 points.

The Spurs saw a strong performance from Victor Wembanyama, who scored a game-high 27 points, but it wasn't enough to withstand the experienced, balanced attack from the Celtics.

The loss tonight resembles a lot from Monday's game where the Spurs surrendered a massive first-half lead that could never be recovered after the teams returned from the locker room. However, it showcases the reality of where San Antonio is, miles behind the true contenders in the NBA.

Report: Devonte' Graham 'Available' in Spurs Trade Talks

The Spurs return to the floor on Friday against a team they have had better success against ... the Charlotte Hornets. The Spurs haven't won since Friday when they beat the Hornets at home. San Antonio can complete the series sweep against Charlotte on Friday at Spectrum Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.
