Report: Spurs' Devonte' Graham 'Available' in Trade Talks
The San Antonio Spurs continue to be a team to monitor in trade rumors as the midseason deadline inches closer, and another one of their players is reportedly being thrown into the mix.
Per Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, Spurs veteran guard Devonte' Graham is on the "list" of players that San Antonio is making available in trade talks.
"Several veterans are also available in San Antonio," Fischer said. "Doug McDermott’s and Cedi Osman’s trade candidacies have been previously reported. Add veteran guard Devonte’ Graham to the list as well, sources said. Graham has just $2.8 million guaranteed for his 2024-25 salary."
Graham, 28, arrived in San Antonio last season from the New Orleans Pelicans in the trade that involved multiple draft picks and veteran guard Josh Richardson. Graham played in 20 games and made eight starts for the Spurs to close out the season while averaging 13 points, 2.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game.
However, he's been nearly invisible since then. Graham has appeared in just eight games this season while playing 9.8 minutes per game and averaging 4.0 points and 2.4 assists. His shooting services could be a valuable asset in a trade to a contending team. Unless coach Gregg Popovich has lineup changes in mind, it's hard seeing Graham get increased usage anytime soon.
Report: Spurs 'Listening' to Trade Offers for Pair of Veterans
NBA insider and Bleacher Report's Chris Haynes previously reported that McDermott and Osman were names to watch on the trading block if the Spurs and general manager Brian Wright were to swing a deal. Adding Graham to the mix means San Antonio is willing to part with three veteran shooters in order to make a trade that could include draft assets or young talent, though that remains to be seen.
The Spurs visit the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.
