The NBA Finals is knotted up at a game apiece after the Miami Heat became the first team this postseason to beat the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena.

The Heat is armored with veterans who have been in the league for awhile, including Kyle Lowry, the series' oldest rotation player at 37 years old. Lowry is seeking his second NBA championship in five years after winning the 2019 NBA Finals with the Toronto Raptors.

Drafted with the No. 24 pick of the 2006 NBA Draft, Lowry has played with many talented players across generations and included his Finals opponents Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray as some of the best, comparing them to some San Antonio Spurs legends.

"Is there another guard-big combo that you've played against that has the chemistry of [Nikola Jokic] and [Jamal] Murray," a reporter asked Lowry after Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

"Tim Duncan and Tony Parker, honestly... Jamal and Jokic, they're deadly," Lowry responded.

Duncan and Parker were the two primary catalysts behind the 2007 NBA Champions, which was Lowry's rookie year. They were the standard that Lowry looked up to coming into the league, so it's no surprise that he puts them in such high regard.

If he sees Jokic and Murray on that same level, the Heat won't have it easy trying to beat them as the series goes on.

Game 3 between the Heat and Nuggets takes place Wednesday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
