The San Antonio Spurs, along with the rest of the league, are now able to form more concrete plans for the NBA Draft after the annual lottery took place this evening.

Here's a look at the NBA Draft Lottery results ...

  1. San Antonio Spurs (14 percent)
  2. Charlotte Hornets (12.5 percent)
  3. Portland Trail Blazers (10.5 percent)
  4. Houston Rockets (14 percent)
  5. Detroit Pistons (14 percent)
  6. Orlando Magic (9.0 percent)
  7. Indiana Pacers (6.8 percent)
  8. Washington Wizards (6.7 percent)

With the No. 1 overall pick, the Spurs are slated to pick at the top of the draft for the first time since 1997, when the team took Tim Duncan with the No. 1 selection. Duncan helped lead the Spurs to five NBA championships and his selection kickstarted one of the most successful dynasties in all of sports. It's almost certain that the team will select Victor Wembanyama with the No. 1 pick, and he's considered to be the best prospect to enter the league since LeBron James two decades ago.

Now, he calls San Antonio home.

The NBA Draft takes place on June 22, five weeks from Thursday.
