The San Antonio Spurs will once again setting roots in France when they select Victor Wembanyama with the No. 1 pick later this month.

However, there's another chance to do so and give Wembanyama a point guard with some promise.

Bleacher Report suggests the idea of trading Devonte' Graham to the Detroit Pistons for Killian Hayes.

"Still just 21 and having averaged 10.3 points and 6.2 assists this season, there's some upside here even it's clear Hayes is never going to be a strong scoring option," Bleacher Report writes. "San Antonio can still mold him into a regular rotation player, however, especially given the team's need at point guard."

While Graham has the higher floor between the two guards, he doesn't appear to be a huge part of the Spurs' future at age 28. He's also making close to $25 million for the final two years of his contract. Meanwhile, Hayes is a restricted free agent at season's end.

This trade would give the Spurs an opportunity to play Hayes for a year and see if he's worth keeping. If he is, then the Spurs have a player that can work with Wembanyama moving forward. If not, they can move on and find a better player to fill the cap space and fit the team.

It's a low-risk, high-reward move that can really help the Spurs move forward in their rebuild.
